Welcome to SU Stars April's Blog Hop

It is that time again for SU Stars monthly Blog Hop that is happening this weekend April 16/17. The start time is Saturday morning at 7am PT/8am MT/9am CT/10am ET and the posts will be up thur Sunday night at Midnight.

If you started at the beginning then you arrived here from the very talented Elizabeth Harris, at her blog http://elizabethloves2stamp.blogspot.com/  then you are right on track. If you get lost along the way then go back to the beginning at http://su-stars.blogspot.com/ where you will find the list of blogs.

This month we are focusing on anything but a card. I chose to make a birdhouse, that I cased from Paper Craft Planet, I just loved how easy the tutorial that  Lyn Bernatovich did.  I love making this so much that I will make my own tutorial soon.

Here is the front my project:

Here is a side view

Supplies:

DSP                              Springtime Vintage from Occ Mini
Punch                            2 Step Bird, Scallop Circle
Markers                        Daffodil Delight, So Saffron, black,
Old Olive, Pretty in Pink, and Rose Red
Accessories                  Rosettes, Basic Pearls, Chantilly Lace

I cut a piece of card stock 4x6 and marked the center of the 4 inch side at 2 inch and down 2 1/2 on each side and this is your template for the bird house front and back. Then I cut 2 pieces of double sided DSP 4x6 and then place template over both pieces and cut. To make the sides cut 2 dsp pieces 2x3 1/2. Score at 1/2, 1, and 1 1/2 inches.  Fold to create one mountain folding the center add two valley folds on either side. Your Accordion should look like a W if folded correctly.
Punch out the front panel with large or extra-large circle punch. I placed a piece of toulle on the reverse side of the front window and taped in place. To decorate the bottom of the window I added my bird and flowers. Added lace bow and pearls. Then I assembled the sides of the birdhouse. I love the way it came out.

Now on to the very talented Loni Holt who not only made fabulous projects for us today over at http://loniholt.blogspot.com/.   I just know she has something wonderful to show you. If you have enjoyed what I have made for you today leave me a comment, I love reading each one.
