Summer Afternoon

I was looking through some of the goodies that my sister and I got from last week order and decided to play yesterday. I just loved the Summer Afternoon stamp set in the new catty. I have seen so many great cards using it and decided to try my own. Since I am an artist, I went with doing this in water color effect. I hope everyone enjoys what I came up with

Supplies:
Card Stock:                      Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze, Lucky Limeade and water color
Stampin Inks:                   Soft Suede, Lucky Limeade, Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler, Marina Mist, Baja
                                         Breeze and So Saffron
Die Cuts:                         Labels Collection Framelits
Punch:                             Eyelet Border
Designer Paper:              Well Worn
Ribbon:                           Chantilly Lace and Pear Pizazz seam binding(retired) under the lace

I also used the color spritzer tool and Soft Suede marker to give the Soft Suede background a splatter effect. I also sponged the edges. Over all it helped in giving my card a Vintage look which is what I was going after.

I am sorry the photo came out a little darker than I wanted, it must have been the lightening that day I took several and they all were the same. Please feel free to leave comments, I love hearing what everyone thinks.

July VC Rock Blog Hop

Welcome to VC Rock's 3rd Blog Hop. I hope everyone is staying cool and having fun. It has been well over 100 here in Nevada (114 to116), Whew that's hot! I understand that it is hot everywhere this summer. What's up with that?

This month's theme is to create Hostess Gifts or a non-card item.  I know you came from Brenda Hugars (aka little sis) blog here  wasn't Brenda's creations gorgeous. She is very talented, and I learn so much from her.  If you get lost along the way and or would like to start at the beginning, please go to VC Rocks Blog here.

It did take me awhile to decide what to come up with this month for the blog hop. I decide to jump start the season with my first Christmas project. Since my sister and I are getting our first order from the Holiday mini, what a great time to play!!!  I have a passion for tins and magnets so I have re-created a gift that I saw on Carla Brasher blog here a few years ago.

So let's get started:

Supplies needed to do this project:
Card stock:                        Gumball Green, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla and Glimmer Paper(Silver)
Dsp:                                   Be of Good Cheer (from the 2012-2013 Catty)
Punches:                            23/8"  Scallop circle, 13/8" circle, 13/4" circle, 1" circle, 3/4"
                                          and large eyelet
Ribbon:                             Gumball Green Satin Stitched
Stamp Set:                         Delightful Decorations(retired)
Stamp Pad:                        Cherry Cobbler
Accessories:                      Bottle Caps, magnets, tin, Crystal Effects, snail adhesive and for
                                          Bling  SU Rhinestones!!

This is not a hard project, but it has several parts and it takes time to assemble some of the parts. I have made several of these for family and friends. This is my first Christmas one. Who knows if you are nice Santa may send you one. Sorry couldn't resist.  Now for curious minds that want to know more on how to make this lovely gift, if you look up under the tutorial tag, you will find step by step directions.

If you don't like the tag on top you can add a tag like this one; and tie it to the ribbon.

I hope you enjoyed my projects today. If you have additional questions, please do not hesitate to leave me a message and I will get back to you ASAP. Enjoy the rest of our weekend and our Hostess Gifts or Non-card items Blog Hop.

Your next stop on the hop will be to visit the very talented Nancy Keithly at her blog here.  I know she will have something wonderful for you.
Thanks for stopping by.  I love comments, so be sure to leave one.   I hope you, too find some time to create something fun for yourself.
