Here are the last 2 preview challenges for this week. They were allot of fun to make. Now that I am all motivated here goes.
Preview challenge 11 was to
Part 1-Use any TOOL to alter a quarter size sheet of card stock from the NEUTRALS collection. Ink may be used in the altering. Tools: brayer, color spritzer, distresser, paper piercing tool, heat gun, tearing edge, crimper, wax paper or foil, or any other household item.
Part 2- Use the altered quarter size sheet of card stock from part 1 of challenge # 11 and the prepared strip of card stock from challenge # 5 (shine on) to create a BIRTHDAY card.
Here is my card:
I hope you can see that I distressed the Crumb Cake card stock using my SU distressing kit, added the piece from an earlier challenge using polka dot embossing folder and then smooching with spritz. My next layer I used versa mark to stamp the Roses from Elements of Style and then embossed with clear embossing powder. I scrunched Very Vanilla satin ribbon, added some Pearls to the side. Stamped roses on crumb cake on Crumb Cake card stock using soft suede. Then using my Big Shot and Beautiful Wings embosslit to make Butterflies. Stamped my Birthday Greeting and I am done.
Onto Preview Challenge 12
Find a magazine. Any magazine except a paper crafting magazine! Browse the grocery store, dept store or search online. Find one advertisement that appeals to you. Select 3 colors from that advertisement and match them to SU colors as close as possible. Create a card or scrapbook page using those 3 colors AND 2 different types of embellishments.
Here is my ad from the Internet: I love ice cream
So I matched Whisper White, Softly suede, and Pretty and Pink for Chocolate, Strawberry, and Vanilla ice cream. Hope you like my card. The sketch I used is from another challenge over at Sketch Frenzy Friday blog here is their website: http://www.sketchfrenzyfriday.blogspot.com/
Here is my card, I hope you like it.
Please let me know what you think.

Creative Sketch's CS30H Challenge
This month’s challenge on Creative-Sketches was a little bit of a challenge for me, and this gave me a chance to go outside the box. I used the Color Coach to come up with these enrich colors.
Here is what I came up with:
Supplies:
Card Stock: Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry and Whisper White
Stamp Pads: Pacific Point
Punches: 1” circle punch, 1-1/4 “circle punch and photo corners extra large
Circle Scissor Plus: 3-3/8”, 2-7/8”
Die cut: Scallop Circle 2
Stamp Set: The Open Sea (from the new summer mini)
Brads: Gold
I cut 3-3/8" circles out using Circle Scissor Plus in Daffodil Delight and Rich Razzleberry, cut out medium scalloped circle using the Scallop Circle Number 2 Die and the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine. Stamped globe from The Open Sea on Whisper White in Pacific Point and cut out 2-7/8" using the Circle Scissor Plus, stamped ship on Whisper White in Pacific Point and cut it out, stamped saying on Whisper White in Pacific Point, punched out with 1" circle punch, punched out 1-1/4" circle in Pacific Point and layered it. I sponged edges of saying, globe, Whisper White layers and base card in Pacific Point.
I then attached the Rich Razzleberry circle onto Whisper White card stock, layered Daffodil Delight circle on top of Rich Razzleberry circle. Attached circle with ship onto scalloped circle, attached with Stampin' Dimensional on top of Daffodil Delight circle. Attached 1" circle saying onto 1-1/4" circle of Pacific Point, attached slightly under raised globe scalloped circle, attached cut out ship using Stampin' Dimensional.
I made the base card of Pacific Point and attached the different layers. I stamped the ship on the inside of the card and finished with sponging the edges. Whew! Sounds like a lot but not really. This stamp set is on my favorite list and I know it will be on yours as well.

Welcome to VC-ROCKS- We are back!!
I belong to a Yahoo Group called VC Rocks. This is a group of fun loving, fast typing, stamping enthusiasts who get together in April/May and have fun, and more fun, through the end of August.
The group offers a chance to share your creations with other talented stampers as well as joining in on
swaps, sending/receiving RAKS, taking classes, doing Make-N-Takes, playing along with the contests offered, and sooo much more.
This is a group with lots and lots AND lots of e-mails, but it is all fun. I am posting a card tonight that I did for one of our Preview challenges (this is to get us warmed up). In preview challenge to we had to pick 3 colors and 2 had to be in the same color group. Which I chose Elegant Eggplant, Always Artichoke and Crumb Cake ( I think I was thinking of food). We could run them through embossing folders and I chose Framed Tulips, Square Lattice, and Polka Dots.
Now on to the challenge we were to make a card using our choices and use congratulations or a phrase for the 4th challenge. Here is what I came up with.
I hope you have enjoyed my card and I hope you will be interested in joining in on all the fun we are having at VC Rocks.
We have an Open Invitation for New Members starting May 1st. You can check us out and join by visiting here.

BirdHouse Tutorial
I had so many of you request a tutorial for the Bird House I did for Su-Stars blog Hop, let begin.
Rosettes, Chantilly lace and window sheets
Cut two pieces of double sided patterned paper 4"x 6". place the cardstock pattern over both pattern pieces and cut roof shape.
Supplies needed:
DSP Springtime vintage
Punch's 2 step bird and scallop circle
SU markers Black, So Saffron, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Pretty in Pink, and Rose Red
Rosettes, Chantilly lace and window sheets
Create a House Pattern: Cut a scrap piece of cardstock 4" x 6". Mark the center on the 4" side at 2" and measure down 2 1/2 " from the top on each of the 6" sides and mark with a pencil. Using a ruler, draw diagonal lines up to the center point and cut to form the roof shape.
To make the accordion sides, cut tow pieces of the same pattern paper 2 x 3-1/2 inches. score each piece at 1/2, 1 and 1 1/2 inches. Fold to create one mountain fold in the center and two valley folds on either side. Your accordion shoul look like a W if folded correctly. You should have 2 roof pieces and 2 side pieces. I put red sticky tape on a valley fold for each piece and then peeled off and attached roof and accordion pieces together.
Punch out the front panel with a 3 inch circle punch. In order to center the opening, I came in from the 6" side with the punch
Now if you would like to stamp an image on the back panel that will show through the window. To center the stamped image through the window, lay the top panel over the rear panel and place a pencil markon the top of the punched circle. Remove the top panel and stamp your image. Add glitter or any color and dimension to your image.
lay a piece of clear window sheet on the reverse side of the front window a little larger than the hole and tape in place. To decorate the bottom of the window. I used the 2 step bird punch, using very vanilla card stock and then I used markers to color my bird like a Golden Finch. I also cut the tree sprig and extra leaves out of Old Olive. Added some lace ribbon and pearls.
I so want to remind everyone even though I changed a couple of things this tutorial belongs to Lyn Bernatovich at PaperCraftPlanet.com. I thank her for making it so simple to make this elegant Bird House.
Creative Sketched-CS29T Challenge
This week on Creative-Sketches you have a Sketch and Technique challenge which means using
the above sketch and chalks/pastels . If you would like to join in on the fun go to:
http://creative-sketches.com and submit your card by clicking on linky tools. Now onto my card:
One of my favorite stamp sets is Element of Style, I love the Vintage look and feel it gives to cards. So when I challenge was to use Chalks it was a no brainier which stamp set I chose.
Supply List:
Card Stock Old Olive, Blushing Bride and Very Vanilla
Stamp pads Crumb Cake, Old Olive
Stamp sets Element of Style,Sincere Salutations
Embossing Folder Square Lattice
Ribbons Pretty in Pink satin, and Victorian lace
Punch Decorative Label
Chalks Rose Red, Pretty in Pink and Old Olive
Aqua Painter
Basic Pearls
I loved the softness the chalks and pearls brought to this card. I stamped the Elements of Style rose on the Blushing Bride, Very Vanilla card stock and stamped with Crumb Cake ink. Then used my aqua painter to color in the roses and leaves to intense the color. Once dried I ran both pieces thru the embossing folder for texture. A little ribbon and pearls for added interest. I decide to put a birthday salutation on this one since I have a lot of birthdays coming up in our family.

Supplies:
DSP Springtime Vintage from Occ Mini
Punch 2 Step Bird, Scallop Circle
Markers Daffodil Delight, So Saffron, black,
Old Olive, Pretty in Pink, and Rose Red
Accessories Rosettes, Basic Pearls, Chantilly Lace
I cut a piece of card stock 4x6 and marked the center of the 4 inch side at 2 inch and down 2 1/2 on each side and this is your template for the bird house front and back. Then I cut 2 pieces of double sided DSP 4x6 and then place template over both pieces and cut. To make the sides cut 2 dsp pieces 2x3 1/2. Score at 1/2, 1, and 1 1/2 inches. Fold to create one mountain folding the center add two valley folds on either side. Your Accordion should look like a W if folded correctly.
Punch out the front panel with large or extra-large circle punch. I placed a piece of toulle on the reverse side of the front window and taped in place. To decorate the bottom of the window I added my bird and flowers. Added lace bow and pearls. Then I assembled the sides of the birdhouse. I love the way it came out.
Now on to the very talented Loni Holt who not only made fabulous projects for us today over at http://loniholt.blogspot.com/. I just know she has something wonderful to show you. If you have enjoyed what I have made for you today leave me a comment, I love reading each one.

Creative-Sketches CS28C Challenge
This week on Creative-Sketches you have a COLOR challenge. No sketch, just use the selected colors, We got our colors from a pretty picture of sand dunes. If you would like to play along with us go to
http://www.creative-sketches.com/. I saw the card I cas for this week on a hop and had to make it. I want to thank Maria for an excellent video on how to make Sweet Peas. If you like a fun challenge go to http://craftymariasstampingworld.blogspot.com/2011/01/sweet-pea-flower-using-butterfly.html and enjoy. Now here is my card.
Supplies:
Card Stock Bashful Blue, Daffodil Delight, Very Vanilla, Old Olive and Elegant Eggplant
Ink Pads Elegant Eggplant, Old Olive, Bashful Blue
Punches Butterfly Extra large, 5 Petal Flower, 2 Step Bird
Ribbon Bashful Blue Satin
Stamp Set Elements of Style
Basic Pearls, water spritzer, Square Lattice Embossing Folder
There are a lot of parts to making this card, but it is so worth it. I had a lot of fun making mine and I hope you watch Maria's video and try these sweet peas for yourself.
I punched out 5 assorted colors using Butterfly punch, punched only 1 Petal Flower using Old Olive and then cut 5 leaves for the leafy stem part of the sweet peas.
Then I punched 4 wing parts from the 2 step Bird punch also in Old Olive for the leaves. Then I took some scrap and cut thin pieces to use for the stems and curly stems. Then I took all the parts except stems and spray with water and then scrunched them and opened back up. While still wet fold the Butterfly part in half and then in half again and shape into the sweet pea bud( do this for all flower buds) Then let all parts dry.
Then take one of the leafy parts from the 5 petal punch and shape around your bud and glue into place, repeat this until all 5 buds have their green stems. I then took Daffodil Delight card stock and ran it thu my Big Shot using the Square Lattice Embossing folder. Then I sponged all card stock. Added some ribbon and Pearls!! Whew! That is all their is to it.
I hope you enjoy my card and leave me your comments.

My boys aren't they cute!!
