Creative Sketches Challenge-CS39A

This weeks challenge is anything goes, card, 3D box's or anything else.
I chose to make a card quick and simple.

Supplies:
Stamp Set: Just Believe

Stamp Pad: Always Artichoke
Card Stock: Always Artichoke, Very Vanilla, various scraps of anything you have around
Designer Series Paper: Various scraps of anything you have around
Accessories: Sticky Strip, Snail Adhesive, Basic Pearls, Big Shot Die Cutting Machine, Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die, Square Lattice Embossing Folder

Base Card: Always Artichoke (4-1/4" x 8")

First Layer: Very Vanilla (4" x 5-1/4")
Second Layer: Always Artichoke (3-3/4" x 5")
Third Layer: Very Vanilla (3-1/2" x 4-3/4")
Inside Layer: Very Vanilla (4" x 5-1/4")

How I made it front of card:

I stamped flower image in Always Artichoke on the smallest piece of Very Vanilla.

I then punched out butterflies using the Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die in a variety of colors/papers.
I placed some  butterflies around, where I thought they would look natural.
I  stamped sentiment in Always Artichoke.
Glued Third layer to Second Layer using Snail Adhesive.
Run Second and Third Layers (glued together) through Big Shot using Square Lattice Embossing Folder.
I then glued this combined layer to the First Layer using Sticky Strip.
I glued all layers to Base Card using Snail Adhesive.
Then added Basic Pearls to a few butterflies.

Inside of card:
Stamped small flower image twice on the bottom left in Always Artichoke.

I glued to Base Card using Snail Adhesive.

Creative Sketches Challenge CS38H

This week challenge is a sketch with a twist it also needs to reflect a Holiday. Any Holiday you like, even Birthdays, Anniversary.!!!

Here is my card I chose Christmas (My favorite time of the year):

Here is the inside of my card:

Supplies I used:

Stamp Sets: Tree Trimmings and Christmas Greetings

Card Stock: Cherry Cobbler, Pear Pizzazz and Whisper White
Stamp Pads: Cherry Cobbler, Pear Pizzazz; Whisper White craft pad
Big Shot and Scalloped Circle Die
Accessories: Snail Adhesive, White Stampin' Embossin' Powder, Embossing Buddy, Stamping Sponges, Basic Rhinestones, Heat Tool, Stamp-a-ma-jig

Directions:

Base Card: 4-1/4"X11" Pear Pizzazz folded in half
First Layer: 4"x5-1/4" Cherry Cobbler
Second Layer: 4" Pear Pizzazz Circle
Top Layer: Scalloped Circle made with Bigz Die and Big Shot Die Cutting Machine (Whisper White)

I stamped ornament images in Cherry Cobbler on Whisper White after cutting out Scalloped Circle. Using Stamp-a-ma-jig, line up string and stamp in Pear Pizzazz. Sponge edges in Cherry Cobbler.

I then layered stamped scallop circle to 4" Pear Pizzazz Circle.
Using Embossing Buddy, gently tap Cherry Cobbler card stock in area where greeting will be stamped (helps to stop embossing powder from sticking to oils from hands).
I then stamped Merry Christmas in Whisper White ink, sprinkle White embossing powder over stamped sentiment, heat set with heat tool.

I then attached Cherry Cobbler layer to base card. Then attached 4" Pear Pizzazz Circle to base card.
Everyone know I had to add alittle  Bling (Basic Rhinestones) to mine or yours heart's content.

Now for the inside:
I layered with Whisper White card stock (4"x5-1/4").
Then I stamped sentiment in Cherry Cobbler. Then I stamped one of the ornaments in Cherry Cobbler.
and added alittle bling with a basic Rhinestone.

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  I am sorry the pictures are not clearer, the card is quite gorgeous.

Creative Sketches - Masked Technique

This week's challenge on Creative Sketches is to use the Masked Technique.  Enjoy my project
and come on over and join us in this challenge by entering your project today!

My Because I Care  card was fun to make -- sailing the seas is where I would like to be!

The masking technique is fun and can be used on any card, scrapbook page or 3-D item.

To create this card:

I stamped the main image on regular typing paper and cut it out as well as stamping it on Whisper White card stock in Basic Black ink.

I punched out a circle using the 2-1/2" Circle Punch.

I placed the cut out image over the stamped image on the card stock with non-permanent.

After attaching the ship, I placed the "hole" from punching out the 2-1/2" circle over the stamped ship and sponged on Daffodil Delight ink around the ship.

To finish the "shining moon" effect, I sponged on Cajun Craze around the top of the circle.

After completing the "shining moon", I placed the circle, previously punched out, over it and sponged on Bashful Blue and Marina Mist to create an early evening ambiance.

To finish the seascape, I masked the ship again and inked up the bottom of the ship in Basic Black, stamped off once and stamped more water.  This step was repeated about ten times to create the ocean.

I layered the stamped Whisper White* card stock to Bashful Blue card stock*, layered it to Basic Black card stock* and attached all to the base card.

*Corners were punched with the Ticket Corner Punch.

To complete the card, I stamped a frame from the Four Frames stamp set (in the new 2011-2012 Idea Book and Catalog) in Marina Mist and the sentiment from the retiring Hostess Set Because I Care and attached to the base card using Stampin' Dimensionals.

VC Rocks June Blog Hop

Welcome to the VC Rocks June Blog Hop

Thank you for visiting my blog today.  If you are following the Blog Hop, you came from Holly's (& The Dog) wonderful blog, InkPaperStamps.  If you are a regular visitor or just happened along, you can start the Blog Hop at the beginning by going here.

The Big Shot Die Cutting Machine

Can you guess what our theme is this month?  Yep, the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine.  I absolutely love this machine and all the wonderful things that can be done with it.  You can use Sizzix dies in as well as many other competitor's dies.  It cuts paper, material, wood, and the list goes on.

For my project today, I made a basket out of the Fancy Favor Bigz XL Die.  It makes the cutest little bag or in my case a basket.  It is great to use as a party favor for a kid's party, a wedding shower, a baby shower or even a family dinner like Thanksgiving!

As a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator I was able to place a pre-order from the New 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalog.  Can you tell what I ordered?  Hint:  two (2) stamp sets -- Delicate Doilies and Four Frames.  Aren't they great?

Card Stock:
  Perfect Plum (6x12 and 5/8x9)
  Whisper White (5-1/2x4-1/2)
  Pear Pizazz (small piece)
Stamp Sets: Delicate Doilies and Four Frames
Stamp Pad(s): Perflect Plum
Accessories: Snail Adhesive, Basic Pearls, Stampin' Dimensionals, Sticky Tape, Fancy Favor XL Bigz Die,
  and the Decorative Label Punch

This cute little basket easily holds four 3"x3" cards with envelopes.  I just had to make a few to go with it.

You can't really tell by this picture, but I used Basic Pearls and Basic Rhinestones.  Following are close-ups of the cards.

Okay, I know, you are wondering where the Basic Pearls are. Right?  Well, I put one in the center of the Perfect Plum circle and eight pearls in each flower around the center.  If you look REALLY hard, you can see them.

Yeah, you can see the Basic Rhinestones on this one.

I hope you have enjoyed the projects I made for you today.  And, as you leave my blog, please hop on over to the fantastic blog of Kym Schwinkendorf, Artful Imagination.

Remember if you get lost or turned around, you can always start at the beginning on our home blog, VC Rocks!

Creative Sketches Challenge-CS36C

I am so sorry for being late, I am having Internet issues from hell. Hopefully they will be all cleared up soon. I found the phones lines were cut and because of all the storms and flooding it will take until the 22nd (keeping fingers crossed) to get a repair man out. Enough of that. You came here for the Challenge, and it is a great one. I just love the Strawberry, don't you?

Here is my submission

Supplies:

Base Card: Soft Suede 5-1/2x 8-1/2

First Layer: Real Red 5-1/4 x 4
Second Layer: Wild Wasabi 5 x 3-3/4
Top Layer: Whisper White 4-3/4 x 3-1/2 and 4 x 5-1/4
Stamp Sets: Fabulous Florets
Word Play

Accessories: Snail Adhesive, Basic Pearls, Stampin' Dimensionals, Watercolor Crayons and Blender Pens. Paper Snips, Eyelet Border Punch

I stamped the leaves in Wild Wasabi, flowers in Real Red and water colored with Blender Pens in Real Red.  I used the Eyelet Border punch and punch along one side of Wild Wasabi and Whisper White card stock pieces. Then I attached Whisper White to Wild Wasabi and attach both to Real Red and all of them to the base card. For some fun I attached a large basic pearl to the center of the large flower. Then  I attached a few small basic pearls (7) to the center of the small flower. Last but not least I stamped sentiment in Real Red.

Then I stamped the  flower image on second piece of Whisper White card stock (4 x 5-1/4) and attach card stock to inside. I hope you enjoyed my Vintage card today.

If you would like to play along with us go to: http://wwwcreative-sketches.com/ and submit your card by clicking on linky tools. I will be waiting to see what you come up with.
