Thinking of You

Today I made two  Thinking of You cards one in Early Espresso and the other in Midnight Muse. Around here everyone liked the Midnight Muse one better. I was visiting Kay Katlhoff blog here and saw these cards and fell in love with them, and guess what I cased them.! Kay also has a step by step video if you would like to make some of your own. Thanks Kay for inspiring me to go outside my box.

Here is my card using Early Espresso

Here is the Front and inside of my card using Midnight Muse

Supplies I used for these cards:

Stamp Sets                        Thinking of You (Spring Mini), Word Play
Card Stock                        Very Vanilla, Daffodil Delight
Designer Series Paper       Tea for Two
Stampin Ink                        Midnight Muse, Early Espresso
Framelits                           Window Frames  Collection
Brads                                 Glimmer Brads (I used Pumpkin)

Directions
  1. I place one of the larger framelits on top of the Very Vanilla piece (51/4" x 4") and ran through my Big Shot to give the cut out,.
  2. Then I stamped the image on top and then I used the framelit that fit what I stamped and ran that through the Big Shot this way they fit into each other.
  3. You can see Kay's step by step video here, she explains it better than I do.
  4. I then cut the chevrons from the Tea for Two designers series paper and placed over the framelit.
  5. Next I placed the Brad at the top of my stamped image, then adhered that on top of the chevrons.  Very quick and easy card to do that makes a statement.
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by Designs by Jackie.  Let me know which one you like? Early Espresso or Midnight Muse?

Sweet Heart Owls

I wanted to make and send some Valentine's to my children and their families and decided for my daughters these cute little owls. I saw them on Michelle Zindorf's web page and had to case them. So this is my version with drawing the tree and swings. Thanks Michelle for all your inspiration for making me think outside the box. I made them thinking of you and Valentine cards all rolled into one. Since they are out of state I thought they would love these.  Hope you like them!

Supplies
Card Stock                   Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise, Old Olive, Cajun Craze, Lucky
                                     Limeade,Cherry Cobbler, Basic Black
Stamp Set                     You are Loved
Ink                                Lucky Limeade, Cajun Craze, Early Espresso, Tempting Turquoise
Stampin Markers          Basic Black
Punch                           Owl Builder
Embossing Folder        Fan Fare
Other Tools                  Sponges, ruler, snail

Directions

First cut your base card out of Tempting Turquoise, 51/2" x 41/4"
Second Layer out Old Olive,  51/4" x 33/4"
Third layer out of Whisper White,  41/2" x 31/2"
Using the Owl Builder punch out owls out of Cajun Craze, Old Olive, Whisper White, Basic Black
Now take the Whisper White and use the Direct to Paper Technique (Take your ink pad and move across the card stock or sponge it) this will give the sky effect. You can see Michelle's tutorial here she shows how to do this step by step.
Next sponge each owl with Old Olive and Cajun Craze.
The vests one in lucky limeade and the other in Cajun Craze.
Assemble your Owls.
Then stamp or draw your tree limb.
Next using a ruler draw your swing.
Stamp your sentiment
Adhere your Owls and finish the inside of card.

I know it seems long, but it was worth it don't you think! Thanks for stopping by and there are a few more Valentine's coming.
