WECLOME TO VC ROCKS BLOG HOP II

If you have arrived here from the very talented Kim's blog: http://www.craftingwithkim.blogspot.com/, then you are in the right place. If not, you can start at the top at http://www.vcrocks.blogspot.com/.

You probably are wondering what VC Rocks is all about. VC ROCKS stands for Virtual Convention and it ROCKS! This is a group of SU Demonstrators and non SU Demonstrators who love to stamp. We get together every year from April through August to hang out and have fun. The group hosts card and 3D swaps, challenges, make-n-takes, training and a virtual hotel. The virtual hotel is similar if you were going to Stampin' Up's annual convention and having roomies. Oops almost forgot the pool boys. The only thing we don't get to do is have Starbucks together every morning. Which is my favorite thing to do. I am not a Stampin' Up Demonstrator but I love participating in this group, meeting new friends, joining swaps and learning new things(such as how to blog hop).

The theme for our blog hop this year was to create a project using retiring colors and /or product from the current Summer Mini Catalog. Now onto what I have made for you, I love making and receiving Vintage cards. Wasn't Stampin'Up clever to give us Elements of Style this summer. I am making all kinds of vintage, shabby chic cards with it.

Supplies:

Soft Suede and Very Vanilla cardstock
Basic Brown , Versa Mark Ink Pads
Stick on Pearls, lace strip
Elements of Style stamp set
Beautiful Wings Embosslite
Snail adhesive, Su Dimensionals
Sponge or sponge dauber

I started off by making a 81/2 x 11 faux toile using the rose stamp and Basic Brown ink onto Very Vanilla. Then I stamped the Humming Bird onto a 81/2 x 11 sheet Soft Suede using Versa Mark. I then cut a piece of VV cardstock to 51/2 x 41/4 to be used as the base card. I cut a piece of the faux toile 51/2 x 41/4 and then cut again diagonally. The same with the Soft Suede. I took another piece of the faux toile and put it in the Embosslite and ran it through the Big Shot to make Butterflies. I cut out the center pieces; 1 piece 3 x 21/2 of VV, 1 piece of SS 23/4 x 21/4 and the last piece of VV 21/2 x 2. Onto the fun part putting everything I glued the diagonal piece's down and then added the lace to cover up the line. Then added the center layers that has been sponged with Basic Brown and stamped with sentiment. Last added Butterflies and pearls!!.

As you hop from blog to blog, be sure to leave a comment at each blog and let us know what you think. I hope you have enjoyed my blog and I hope you will come back often. Now onto the fabulous Brandy at http://www.stampingbrandy.blogspot.com/. I know you will adore what she has in store for you.
