Twelve Days of Christmas Day Eleven

Beautiful Season Gift Card Set
Part One

This is the last project for my Twelve Days of Christmas and it will take two days to cover all that I have to show you.  It has been exciting and fun creating these projects,  I just love Christmas and anything to do with it.

Today project is how to make the case cover, and getting my holder ready for my cards, gift tags.

Here is my case cover;

Supplies need for this project:

Card Stock                        Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper      Be A Good Cheer
Stamp Set                          Beautiful Season, Petite Pairs
Markers                             Always Artichoke, Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler
                                          Soft Suede, Marina Mist, Pacific Point, Lucky Limeade
Stampin Ink                       Always Artichoke, Early Espresso and Soft  Suede
Punches                             Decorative Label and Curly Label
Tools and Accessories:
Aqua Painter, sticky tape, snail, Paper Crimper,  Dazzling Details in Cherry Cobbler and Clear Mount Stamp Case

Directions:

1. Cut the designer series paper 10 1/2" x 7". I used Be a good Cheer and put the Christmas on the outside. Slip this into the sleeve to make sure it fits. Remove to add layers and tag or leave as is.
2. Next I cut a piece of Cherry Cobbler card stock 6 5/8" x 4 11/16", then the top layer is Whisper White and cut to 5 7/16" x 4 1/4"
3. Next I double stamped the birds from Beautiful Season to where the branches over lap but the birds do not, using Soft Suede.
4. Next using the Stampin UP Markers I colored in the birds, leaves,berries and stems.
5. I added Dazzling Details in Cherry Cobbler over the berries to give a little Bling to them!
6. Next I stamped my message on Whisper White card stock and then punched it out with the Decorative Label Punch.
7. Assembled and adhered them together. You can just put the card layer over the designer paper and it will stay, I used glue dots on each corner and glued to my designer paper, this gift is traveling back to my daughter in Indiana for Christmas, so I wanted to make sure it didn't move.

 This finished the holder for the cards and tags. On Friday I will show you the Christmas cards, gift cards and tags for part Two. Until then I hope you have enjoyed your stop today.

Twelve Days of Christmas Day Two

Ginger Bread Men Bookmark
Today's project is quick and easy. Christmas is a great time for giving books and why not include a handmade bookmark!  Not giving a book, then maybe you know someone who reads a lot! Either way it is a quick and easy gift.

Here is my bookmark; let's get started!  I just love these little guys!!

Supplies Needed for this project:

Card Stock                             Gum Ball Green and Whisper White
Stampin Up Ink                       Early Espresso
Stamp Sets                              Scentsational Season and Petite Pairs
Framelits                                Holiday Collection
Punch                                     Modern Label
Designer Series Paper           Be a good Cheer
Ribbon                                   Scallop Dots  (Cherry Cobbler)
Bling                                      Dazzling Diamonds
Tools                                      Big Shot

Directions:

1. For the base of your bookmark cut a piece of card stock 5 1/2 x 2 1/4, for the next layer(designer series paper) cut a piece 4 3/4 x 2 inches. 
2. Stamp the Ginger Bread Men with Early Espresso on Whisper White card stock.
3. Then using your Big Shot and the Ginger Bread Men from Holiday Collection framelits match the framelit to the stamped Ginger Bread Man and run through the Big Shot.
4. Take another piece of Whisper White card stock and stamp Merry Christmas onto it and then punch out your message using the Moder Label punch.
5. Cut a piece of ribbon about 8 1/2 inches long.
6. Now assemble your pieces and start adhering them to your base card. First the ribbon, designer series paper, Ginger Bread Men and then tag.  I tilted my Ginger Bread Men and attached them and the tag with dimensionals.
7. For some Bling I added Dazzling Diamonds!

Late Night Stampers Winners

VC Rocks Challenge #7

I love being part of such a dymatic group of women, we have so much fun. Yesteday our challenge was a technique and emboss card stock. Today we are taking the black crumbled piece of card stock and make a card using the folded stamped edge from challenge 2. How cute. It is like a scaverger hunt, you never know what the next item is and how to use it. I am not known for making simple cards, but my grandson liked this one. It is not so girly!!!

VC ROCK Challenge #10-Let the Fun Begin!!

Today's challenge was to use the piece from challenge #6 and the parts from challenge #8. Now let me tell you that was a challenge. Here are the pieces and then what I came up with.

Here is what I came up with for challenge #10

We had to use the embossed piece from challenge # 6 add color over the card stock and embossed area with watercolor crayons, pencils, markers, smooch spritz or paint. Then use the punched or die cut pieces from preview challenge # 8 to create a bookmark, card,scrapbook page or other paper craft item.

As you can see I did a card, out of Rose Red to match the colors in the Dsp., lots for Pearls, smooch spritz for glitz, Victorian lace, water color pencils, aqua painter, Victorian wallpaper embossing folder for texture and gold embossing powder to make everything go together.

Stampin Diva's Color Challenge 02

Welcome everyone to our monthly color challenge!!! This month I have selected soft colors that will be perfect for your Spring creations: Marina Mist, Crumb Cake or River Rock, Always Artichoke and Baja Breeze.

AND, to get your creative juices really going, we are adding a second challenge this month! Make a completely new and original (oh, okay, you can CASE, lol, but original to you) a 3-D project -- a basket, a box, jewelry -- whatever you want to make. You can also combine this challenge with the monthly Color Challenge!

AND to make it really interesting, the Design Team Members will pick their favorite project and one lucky person will be chosen as the winner for this challenge and receive a gift from the new Summer Mini! YUMMY!!!!

Here is my card I posted as part of the Design team.

I combined our color challenge with Stamping 411: Saturday sketch challenge  #195. I love the simplity of the design.

I know it looks like it took along time, but it really didn't. I cut the cardstock to the dimmensions stamping 411 gave, ran them thru the embossing folders, stamped images, use the markers to color the roses, make the flower using the scallop punch and dye the ribbon, and assemble. I think the hardiest part was picking the right colors for the right shape. My element of style didn't quite come out the way I wanted it. I wanted a more vintage look. Elements of Style-Neutral Shadowing Tutorial

I had a few request to how I did my version of Neutral Shadow that I posted for the SU Tour. Well I did it using my favorite stamp set Elements of Style. It looks longer than it is to do the technique, I know this is suppose to be clean and simple, but I have a hard time not adding lace, pearls, ribbons to my cards. I just love the Vintage look.

Supplies:
Cardstock:      Crumbcake, Soft Seude
Ink pads:         Soft Seude, Versa Mark, Craft Whisper White
Markers;          Cherry Cobbler, Soft Seude, Crumb Cake
Embossing Folder Framed Tulips, Rosettes from Occasions Mini
Clear Embossing Powder
Victoria Lace and  Basics Pearls
Beautiful WIngs Embosslits Die

Let's get started: I stamped first with Versa Mark, then I restamped with Craft Whisper White

 Then stamped on crumb cake card stock.

Then gathered up my embossing tray, heat gun and clear embossing powder and embossed the image. 

Then I took Soft Suede Ink pad and it should have been a stencil brush but I didn't have one and used
some of my paint brushes. The softer one worked better for me. What you next is tap the ink and stipple or add ink to the outline of the stamp you used(almost like stenciling). Becareful because too fast and cause the shadowing to go outside the lines and smudge.

When you are finished it should look something like this.

I then ran Soft Seude card stock thru the Framed Tulip embossing folder

 Then I gathered up what I was going to use to complete my card. You will see I already used the embosslits and made my butterflies, cut my strip of  lace.

I took 3 rosettes and clored them to match the colors in my card. Here I show how I colored one using Cherry Cobbler, and then a picture of them finished.





Then I added small basic pearls to the centers of the rosettes.

Then I ran a strip of sticky tape along the left side of the card, added the lace in a zig zag. I added Butteflies and Pearls. At the bottom I added the Rosettes. Sorry no pictures of how I did this my battery died on my camera.  Here is my finished card and I hope you like how it came out.  

I finished the inside with a piece of Crumb Cake card stock I ran thru the Framed Tulip embossing folder and added a large Butterfly. I added a Thinking of You sentiment.

Valentine Creative Challenge

I belong to this fantastic group of stampers and crafters called the The Hive, and there is  a Valentines Day Challenge that started January 24th to Feb. 12th and the winner will be announced on Feb. 16th.

I love making cards using  SU Elements of Style stamp set and I used Real Red and More Mustard card stock, and Bling of course.  

Vintage Love



I saw a different version of my card in a issue of Card making Mag. but I didn't have any Valentine Day dsp so I made my own using Elements of Style, Because I care stamp sets and coloring the flowers using SU markers and aqua painter. This gives a watercolor effect. Then I used SU new Distressed Kit to give it an aged look. I then used SU Scallop Trim Border punch, wrap alittle lace around, add alittle twine. Then I used the Scallop circle punch to make a flower. Added  some pearls and wha-la done. I loved using the distressed inks and making this card while helping my granddaughter with hers. In all it was a fun day. I hope you enjoy my version and leave me a comment.

Oh so cold Friday....

It got done to 5 below and windchill of 10-15 brrr. this Friday morning. So me and the grandchildren(guess they are still children at 18 and 19) made Blueberry pancakes and my grandaughter and I had a cardmaking day. Heather wanted to make her boyfriend a card. She got a kick out going through my stuff finding what she wanted, then designing the card.   Her only comment was wow grandma, I didn't know there are so many layers to this card. It came out awesome, and I hope you agree. This is her first attempt (with help from grandma) at making a card.
