This is the last preview challenge, we were to make a Welcome card or Friendship  card.
I chose Calypso Coral as my color scheme. I embossed crumb cake with Vintage Wallpaper and then destressed with Tea stain. I inked very vanilla seam binding with Calypso Coral, and then made Butterflies with using Mr Big Shot, added some DSP and Pearls for Bling.

I love the way it came out.  I hope you have enjoyed my month of preview. May starts our summer 2012 of fun, stamping, and friendship.

VC Rock Challenge 9

Today's challenge was to create a card or scrap page that shows why you fell in love with stamping. Update it to your current style (if you didnt layer anything when you first started, layer your pieces or if you didnt use embellishments but love to add them now, use them). Revisit your first love!

Since my style has evolved over the years I hope you like what I came up with.

VC Rocks Challenge 8

I will tell you that when I first saw what the challenge was I got excited.
We had a question put to us,
Take the word you used to describe yourself. Cross out any duplicate letters. Use the remaining letters as a guide to choosing cardstock or embellishments. The letter used must be found in the name of the item. Extra colors are permitted

Well what a challenge, my word was creative.

C                     Chocolate Chip card stock and ink
R                     Ribbons
E                     Elements of Stlye Stamp Set
A                     Baja Breeze card stock and markers
T                     Top Note(T and I go together)
I                       Bigz dies
V                     Very Vanilla card stock
E                      crosssed off letter

Extra accessories:  Basic Pearls, Rosettes, Two Step Bird Punch, Small circle punch and Bashful Blue marker.

I liked this card so much I am making alot more of them. It really was easy peasy and fun!

VC Rocks Challenge #7

I love being part of such a dymatic group of women, we have so much fun. Yesteday our challenge was a technique and emboss card stock. Today we are taking the black crumbled piece of card stock and make a card using the folded stamped edge from challenge 2. How cute. It is like a scaverger hunt, you never know what the next item is and how to use it. I am not known for making simple cards, but my grandson liked this one. It is not so girly!!!
Here it is:

Supples:
Card stock                      Calypso, Basic Black, Very Vanilla
Stamp Set                       Sincere Salutations (retiring), little leaf from Lovely as a tree
Ink Pads                          Basic Black, Soft Suede
I added a Chocolate Chip button and twine, and for a little bling my black was spritz with sparkley water.

IN LOVING MEMORY OF MY FATHER

Dad and I last summer

My father, Raymond J Davy,  passed away yesterday Friday the 13th, 2012, during the day. He had survived the depression, World War II, many surgeries, especially to the heart, but sometime in the afternoon his heart just gave out. He is survived by his daughters, Jackie Watson, Brenda Hugar and his only son James Kelly and his last surviving brother of 12 Glen Davy. Our mother had passed away a few years ago and I know they both are at peace now.  My father was a kind man, who lived long enough to see a great many changes in the world and the United States. He was World War II Veteran, father, husband, grandfather and great grandfather. He was loved by his family and friends and will be dearly missed. When I think of my father I think of his warm smile and quick wit.  He loved to spin a good yarn, work in his workshop making birdhouses, tulips, he loved working with his hands and in his younger days go fishing.  Your family loves and misses you, and will always keep you in our hearts.

There will be no showing or serves, my father and stepmother had it in there wills to be cremated and buried together in Marion at the Military cemetery.  If you want to contact me send me an email to jackielwatson2009@hotmail.com.
